Ecotourism CertificationAs owners/ custodians of Daintree Secrets we live and breathe protection of this pristine environment. We are passionate about helping others to understand the need to be involved in protecting this wonderful planet, which is why we have chosen to share this unique piece of paradise with you. A stay at Daintree Secrets helps you to re-connect with nature and for some to connect for the very first time.
We embarked upon the Ecotourism certification process to ensure that we were 100% on the right track when it came to sustainable practices and to help us to improve any areas that were lacking or needed attention. Going through this certification process has cemented our understanding of and commitment to sustainable operations.
By achieving Ecotourism Australia Certification status Daintree Secrets joins fellow exemplary operators in terms of sustainability and provision of authentic, high-quality nature-based tourism experiences.
The ECO Certification logo means that you are guaranteed to be part of a genuine and authentic nature experience that looks after the environment. The ECO Certification program assures you that certified products are backed by a commitment to sustainable practices and provide high quality nature-based tourism experiences.
We hope that your time at Daintree Secrets helps you to understand that it is possible to step lightly on this planet and to realise that it is rewarding to do so. It just takes small changes.
We are proud to promote ecotourism and to be part of this growing movement and would encourage you to take part. Volunteering is a cost-effective way of doing your bit. Find a cause that you are passionate about. You will be amazed at the emotional gratification that you receive in return.
You don’t however have to donate your time and/or money; your every action and the everyday choices you make can be just as effective. Whilst in the Daintree, stick to marked drives or paths, do not touch or feed wild animals, do not purchase merchandise derived from rare or threatened species or artefacts. Remember to take only photos and leave only footprints.
